Classes are divided into age and ability and each group is held once a week with 50 minutes of online fun learning through games, role play and presentations. The Fun & Games Club helps children to use what they learn in school with added vocabulary to naturally grow and flourish in English. ENGLISH IS SPOKEN AT ALL TIMES.

Children are wonderful learning sponges at this stage, so it’s the perfect time to capitalise on this with extra fun and games in English. In this class they will learn through singing songs about the weather, drawing their favourite food, and talking about simple jobs.
Activities include reviewing the grammar learnt in school (such as the Present Continuous and the Present Simple), using simple adjectives to describe their family, and learning about animals, parts of the city and how to be safe playing sport.
This class starts in January. Classes have between 4 and 10 children, so contact Jayne now to secure your place.
Elephants (Age 8-9)
This is a crucial year for building confidence in English, and it’s imperative that children understand and practice the language and grammar they are learning in school. We do this through fun and straightforward games & activities. By the end of the year, children are self-assured in asking each other questions, having a better understanding of irregular past verbs and starting to use prepositions which are key at this learning stage.
These classes also review numbers, telling the time, learning about body parts and what makes a healthy diet. We talk about breakfast foods from all around the world, the materials things are made of and what school subjects the children are good at.
This class starts in September, although students can join at any time of the year. Classes have between 4 and 10 children, so contact Jayne now to secure your place.
Giraffes (Age 9-10)
This year, the essential grammar point is the Present Perfect using words like yet, already, just, for and since.
Past Participles will be reviewed in depth through enjoyable games and activities. Children learn about traditional English food, sport, simple Modal Verbs and the Past Continuous tense. We also play with Question Tags and talk about robots, inventions, the five senses, animals and the future of the planet.

Children really benefit from speaking and practicing at this stage, which is all done through age-appropriate games and activities. This year we cover clothes, future technology, emotions, illnesses, TV and film. As well as the Present Continuous for future plans, and the 1st and 2nd Conditional. We spend a lot of time asking and answering questions confidently: a great skill to master.

In the final year of primary school, we cover music, adjectives with prepositions, shopping, gerunds and the history of money. We review the Passive through travel and the history of aviation and learn some basic Phrasal Verbs and Idioms. We talk about ideal jobs using the Past Perfect and models of probability.
Children have fun with news reporting using Reported Speech and Reflective Pronouns, and we practice dreaming with, ‘I wish.’ Please note if your child is taking the Cambridge PET at this stage there is also a year-long class focussing only on the skills needed to pass.
